Our customer is a US manufacturer of turn-key ventilation systems for a broad range of end users. They use ZYGLO®ZL-60C and ZYGLO® ZL-60D for leak checking their duct work systems and wanted to know more about the storage and handling requirements associated with these penetrants. Specifically, they wanted to know if dispensing penetrant from a cup/holder was an acceptable working practise, and whether they should empty out and clean the holder at the end of each shift.
We gave our customer detailed advice on carrying out a chemical risk assessment. We also recommended that a lower sensitivity penetrant would be cheaper and just as effective for their testing needs.
